Bangers & Mash Test Day Announcement
You asked, we listened. The Test Day scheduled for 19 September 2025 will now be run as an open Sydney Dragway Test & Tune.
That means it's open to all racers, cars & bikes, not just Bangers & Mash competitors. If you're looking for more track time, this is your chance to get out there and send it down the strip.
Also, as with all other Sydney Dragway Test & Tunes, spectators are now welcome!

Details:
Gates open Approx 12PM
Rego & Scrutineering from 2PM-8PM
Racing from 4PM-10PM
*Times subject to change

What is Test & Tune?
Test & Tunes are a great opportunity for racers to test their vehicle's performance & fine tune their set up in a relaxed setting. Test & Tunes are also a great opportunity for fans to meet their favourite racers and check out some of the newest race cars in action. You can expect to see anything from Top Fuel and Pro Slammers, through to Junior Dragsters, Rotary Sedans, Bikes and everything in between!

Bangers & Mash Classes

Nostalgia & Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars – Nitro Funny Cars running to either NHRA Nostalgia Funny Car or Outlaw Funny Car rules
AA/Fuel Altereds:
Vintage Gas (entry comes with 2 crew): Split into the following brackets:
- A/Vintage Gas: 0-9.99
- B/Vintage Gas: 10.00 and slower
  - NOTE: If minimum of 6 cars is not met in one or both fields, category will run as one combined class
Nostalgia Pro Stock (entry comes with 4 crew)
Front-Engine Dragsters (entry comes with 4 crew): Split into the following classes
- V8 Supercharged
- V8 Naturally Aspirated
- 6 Cylinder all configurations
  - NOTE: If minimum of 6 cars not met in one or more fields, categories will be run as combined classes as necessary
All Altereds split into the following categories: (entry comes with 4 crew)
- V8 Supercharged
- V8 Naturally Aspirated
- 6 Cylinder all configurations
  - NOTE: If minimum of 6 cars not met in one or more fields, categories will be run as combined classes as necessary
Hot Rod Mayhem – Pre-1948 hot rods split into the following categories (entry comes with 2 crew):
- 6.99 and quicker
- 7.00-8.99
- 9.00-10.99
- 11.00-12.99
- 13.00 and slower
  - NOTE: If minimum of 6 cars not met in one or more fields, categories will be run as combined classes as necessary

Veteran & Vintage Speedsters (entry comes with 2 crew) – Running to the 1/8 mile
Doored/Sedan Classes:
- Nostalgia Street (Sedan Cars 13.00 and slower) (entry with 2 crew)
- Nostalgia Gas (Sedan Cars 9.00-12.99) (entry with 2 crew)
- Nostalgia Sportsman (Sedan Cars 0-8.99) (entry with 4 crew)

GENERAL RULE:
◾️ All IHRA Australia safety and compliance rules apply
◾️All racers running between 10.00 and 12.99 that don’t have an IHRA Australia license will require a day license which can be applied for on the IHRA Australia website
◾️All racing will be to Chicago Shootout format with minimum one qualifier for non-nitro categories
◾️Sydney Dragway reserves the right to re-classify or decline entries to ensure class compliance
◾️Open to all pre 1979 vehicles for non-street cars
◾️For all street cars, open to vehicles eligible for historic NSW plates. (Restricted to Australian & American body styles only)

Registration & Scrutineering from: 7AM-2PM
Drivers briefing: 8:30AM - 3.45AM
Racing from: Approx 9AM - 7PM

Competitor entries close Monday 15th September 2025 - 9:00AM!

Children aged 12 & Under - Free Entry.
